Refund Policy
Draft — pending legal review. These terms are published early so you can read what we intend to agree to before you install anything. They have not been reviewed by outside counsel and are not yet in force. Nothing here creates a contract until it is executed or you accept it at sign-up, and we will not apply a materially worse version to an existing customer without 30 days notice.
Who you bought from
Payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for every SuperDiffs purchase. Paddle is the seller on the transaction: it takes the payment, charges any VAT, GST or sales tax due where you are, issues the invoice, and processes refunds. Your card statement will show Paddle rather than SuperDiffs.
That means two agreements exist side by side. Paddle’s buyer terms cover the purchase itself; our Terms of Service cover the software. This policy is what we commit to, and we instruct Paddle to honour it. Where local consumer law gives you a stronger right than anything written here, that law wins and we will not argue about it.
The 14-day guarantee
This applies to the first paid period on an organisation — the first monthly charge, or the first annual charge. It is deliberately simple: a reviewer you cannot evaluate without running it on real pull requests is a reviewer you should be able to stop paying for after running it on real pull requests.
Renewals and cancellation
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not refund the period you are currently in, and you keep full access until that period ends.
- Cancel from the billing portal in your dashboard, at any time, without contacting us.
- Renewals are not silent. Annual plans get an email at least 7 days before they renew, with the amount and the date. If an annual renewal charges you and you tell us within 14 days that you meant to cancel, we refund it — that is a mistake, not a sale.
- Adding seats mid-period is prorated by Paddle, so you pay for the remainder of the period only. Removing seats takes effect at the next renewal.
When we refund beyond the guarantee
- We removed something you paid for. If we materially reduce a feature during a term you have already paid for, you may cancel and take a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
- We terminated you for convenience. If we end the agreement without your having broken it, we refund the unused portion.
- We billed you wrongly. Duplicate charges, seats counted that were bots, or a plan you did not choose: we refund the difference for the affected periods, not just the current one.
- The service was substantially unavailable. If reviews did not run for a sustained period through our fault, ask and we will credit or refund that time.
What we do not refund
- Periods already served, outside the cases above. If the reviewer ran on your pull requests for four months and you cancel in month five, months one to four were delivered.
- Accounts suspended for breaching the Acceptable Use Policy — attacking the sandbox, mining, or reselling the output as a competing product.
- Dissatisfaction with individual findings after the 14-day window. The reviewer is a judgement tool and it will sometimes be wrong; that is what the guarantee period is for. Tell us anyway — a bad finding is a bug report we want.
How to ask
Email billing@superdiffs.com from an address on the account, or reply to any Paddle invoice. Tell us the organisation and roughly what went wrong — the second part is optional, but it is the only way the product gets better.
We answer refund requests within 2 business days. Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method and typically clear in 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. We do not control that last step and will not pretend to.
What happens to your data
A refund cancels the subscription. Your organisation drops to the free plan rather than disappearing: repositories stay connected, past reviews stay readable, and nothing is deleted because you asked for money back. If you want it erased as well, say so and we will follow the deletion path in the Privacy Policy.
Chargebacks
If something is wrong with a charge, email us before your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee and costs you the account while it is open, and every case we have any control over is faster to fix directly. We have never refused a refund that was owed, and we would rather keep it that way than win a dispute.
